Miquette Subia-Belton
Miquette Subia-Belton is a graduate of Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU), with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Liberal Studies, and currently resides in Oakland, California. From 2002-2006, Miquette co-founded NDNU’s holistic peer education program EMPOWER, and pro-peace organization NDNU Students for Peace. She was also deeply involved in the implementation of and creating curricula for Community Based Learning and social-justice oriented education, as well an active organizer with NDNU’s anti-death-penalty San Quentin witness program. She is currently a direct-care counselor for Seneca Center, and works with Northern California’s most challenged, high-risk youth at Seneca’s San Francisco Community Treatment Facility.
